Maggie
Were do I start…… My best friend was pregnant so I got Maggie! She was the easiest friend with paws to house train I have ever known. It literally took one time! I used to say she was a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Deer. With those long legs she could run like the wind and clear a 4 foot fence without a running start. She was my confidant, friend, business partner, and my “not having any more babies” baby. My daughter would tell you I loved her most, I don’t think so……. but maybe…. just a little. Loosing her was one of the hardest things I have ever dealt with. I still miss her silky head in my lap; she still walks every step beside me.
Roxy
My little girl! I always had big dogs; I am ashamed to say I was one of those people who made fun of little dogs! Then this 1 pound ball of fur crawled onto my chest and it has been love ever since. She is the only friend with paws I have ever allowed to sleep in my bed, how could I say no? She lights up my world and makes me giggle just at the sight of her. Sometimes, when she hasn’t been brushed, it can be a bit difficult to tell one end from the other……. until she starts to cover you with kisses! When you only weigh 5 ½ pounds that can take awhile, and requires quite a large amount of enthusiasm! Good things do come is small packages……….. Especially when they are covered with fur!
Mia
Mia is still a baby, so we try not to tease her to much. You see Mia is a scaredy-dog. If the cat walks into the room she runs under the couch screaming. This behavior is not reserved for the cat; it can also be caused by the entrance of any other canine. She is also afraid of snow..... yes, snow. She loves people and is very expressive in vocalizing her feelings. She will always tell you exactly how she feels. She loves to snuggle with Roxy in their pink bed by the fire, chew on**. anything, and especially eat!!! She has never met a meal she didn*t like! It was the happiest day in her young life when she learned she was going to live in a doggie bakery!
Fred
Well Fred was our brother! That was that. You read about the kind of friend Fred was. He would walk me to school, and when school was out there he would be waiting by the entrance. When I was eight, my two sisters, my mother, and I were spending the summer with our Grandmother. While we were away my father was to move us into a new home about 50 miles from were we had been living. Fred disappeared when my father brought him to the new house. My poor father spent the next two weeks trying to figure out how to tell his three little girls he lost their brother. The day before we were to return home he received a call from our old neighbor. Fred was laying porch on the porch of our old home. He wasn’t going anywhere without his girls….. He never did! Here’s to Fred, the kind of friend every child should have.
Spanky
Is the youngest son of my best friend, or you could just call him my nephew. He is a little boy, and will stay that way as he is Havanese. He is their favorite son and falls in line right behind their human daughter. When Spanky comes into a room, he doesn’t walk, he hops. He smiles at everyone, because he knows that if they sit down they will provide a lap for him to delight in. He will do ALL his tricks for a treat. We all dread the day he learns how to spell because then we will all have to learn how to say t-r-e-a-t in another language! Spanky would be insulted to be referred to as a dog; because we all know he is just a little boy in a dog suit!
Mitzie
Living in a house full of men Christy finally got her little girl! She came in the form of West Highland Terrier who was promptly named Mitzie. Mitzie is Roxy’s best friend. She is a sweet little girl; she does whatever you ask, after all compliance could end up in a belly rub! Growing up in St. Louis Mitzie had always had trouble with food allergies, but it was when her family transferred to Colorado 3 years ago that her real trouble began. Among other things Mitzie is allergic to grass and horses. Parker Colorado would not have been her first choice! In honor of her loyalty we have created Mitzie’s Morsels, a treat she can actually eat without become a little doggy version of the itchy and scratchy show!
Feebie
Feebie was a freebie, so to speak. We picked her out of a box full of puppies in front of Target. She loved everyone, and everyone loved her. Her favorite pastime was pulling the stuffing out of something** anything! She once ate our couch...... Our Couch! There was never a dog who wanted to please more than Feebie, there was never a dog that would fetch as long, or as happily as Feebie, and there was never a dog more allergic than Feebie! She was allergic to so many things that we used to say she was allergic to dogs. Her only treats were ice cubes and her medications which she would take as greedily and joyfully as most dogs receive the most delicious treats. We wish we knew then what we know now about pet nutrition, because everyone, especially someone like Feebie, deserves a real treat!
Georgie n' Daisy
Daisy may be the leader but wherever she goes Georgie is never far behind! These two are girly girls! While Daisy likes to have her toenails painted, Georgie prefers to roll around in freshly washed sheets and fabric softener sheets. Their perfect day would definitely include a car ride. Not just a ride anywhere…. these two know what a drive-through is! That is where Cheeseburgers come from! Their secret is out, they are junk food junkies. But don’t worry, they keep themselves in shape going for walks and playing fetch. At days end they snuggle up in mom and dad's bed, sometimes they even leave room for mom and dad! For Goergie & Daisy it truly is a dog’s life ~ a very good one at that!
Winnie
Winnie was a "Big Boned Gal". Most of her life was spent in a kennel waiting to be bred. Her soft and gentle nature made her the favorite of two children who cared for her when her owner was out of town. These two children fell in love with Winnie, and she with them. When the owner moved she allowed the children to take Winnie home. Their mother was reluctant at first, but quickly fell in love. She and Winnie were often spotted sharing a p-nut butter sandwich. Winnie brought an unexpected gift with her, and she soon gave birth to 10 puppies! The birth was very hard on her, and Winnie's health began to deteriorate, while her waistline continued to expand. Winnie's time with her new family was short, but the love that she shared with them was as oversized as she was.
